Description

Pure and Simple Indulgence. Our premium 1kg glass raw honey jars!  With its rich golden color and smooth texture, this honey is perfect for sweetening your tea or coffee, baking, and spreading on toast. The glass honey jar preserves the quality of the honey and it’s also perfect for storing and displaying it in your kitchen. We believe the tastiest and healthiest honey is honey kept in its most natural state with minimal processing. Single source harvested from each apairy, then cold filtered and bottled on our farm. Treat yourself or your loved one to the taste of pure, raw honey today.

Our hives are mostly static to each location and therefore our honey will vary in taste, consistency and colour all year round dependent on the flora, weather conditions and season. This is the way we like our local honey to be. Some flowering seasons will crystalise faster than others, which is normal for raw unheated honey.

Created in the hive by the bees, uncapped by hand with a serrated knife (see our process here), and spun by us the beekeepers we can ensure every step in the process is kept as natural as possible.

Benefits of raw honey

Honey is one of the worlds amazing products. The health benefits of raw honey are extensive. It is a good source of antioxidants that help protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals. Raw honey has been revered for its potential health benefits for centuries. Experience its soothing properties by adding a spoonful to warm water, along with a squeeze of lemon, to create a soothing tonic for sore throats or a comforting bedtime drink. Its antimicrobial properties may also provide a gentle boost to your immune system.

The tiny residue of propolis in raw honey has antifungal and antibacterial properties making it ideal for healing wounds. It is thought that incredible enzymes such as phytonutrients, amylase, glucose oxidase, invertase, diastase and catalese in honey are responsible for the immune-boosting and anticancer benefits. Minimal processing and good storage helps to retain these properties.

Read our blog on the benefits of raw honey. Honey also includes small trace amounts of 54 different micronutrients (or, vitamins and minerals):

  • calcium
  • magnesium
  • manganese
  • niacin
  • pantothenic acid
  • phosphorous
  • potassium
  • riboflavin
  • sodium
  • vitamin C
  • zinc

To get the benefits from bee gut flora, please do not heat your honey over 40 degrees, as this will cause the beneficial enzymes to die. It will still be perfectly tasty for cooking or dropping in your tea. So don’t forget to have a teaspoon of raw honey straight from the spoon. It contains 64 calories and 17 grams of sugar in each tablespoon of raw honey, which is a great source of portable energy for runners.

Our happy hives are located on suburban and rural properties from Brisbane to Gympie. We use no chemicals in the management of our bees or the processing of our raw honey or pure beeswax. We are organically minded in every step of our beekeeping journey.

When you buy any of our products you are supporting a local family of beekeepers that support an important industry and other family-run businesses. Dream big for local impact!
