Raw Honey Comb | 250g

$12.00

Straight from the hive, it all starts with honeycomb. Honeycomb is delish on it’s own, on yoghurt, in smoothies, on your cereal, on raisin toast, drizzled on a fruit platter or of course on crumpets!

Did you know it takes the bees five times as much nectar, resin and pollen to make the wax for the honey to sit in as it does the honey. Hence why honeycomb is so incredibly precious.

How to use

Eat it as is and yes you can swallow the wax. Chop chunks off and have it on your cereal or spread it on warm bread or toast. Put chunks in your smoothie. It is a great natural sweetener for desserts. It’s a luxurious addition to a cheese board to have with thinly sliced pear and brie.

Our hives are mostly static to each location and therefore our honey will vary in taste, consistency and colour all year round dependent on the flora, weather conditions and season. This is the way we like our local honey to be. Some flowering seasons will crystalise faster than others, which is normal for raw unheated honey.

Created in the hive by the bees, uncapped by hand with a serrated knife, and spun by us the beekeepers we can ensure every step in the process is kept as natural as possible.

Benefits of raw honey comb

Raw honey comb is one of the worlds amazing products. The health benefits of raw honey are extensive. It is a good source of antioxidants that help protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals.

The tiny residue of propolis in raw honey has antifungal and antibacterial properties making it ideal for healing wounds. It is thought that incredible enzymes such as phytonutrients, amylase, glucose oxidase, invertase, diastase and catalese in honey are responsible for the immune-boosting and anticancer benefits. Minimal processing and good storage helps to retain these properties.

Read our blog on raw honey comb benefits including small trace amounts of 54 different micronutrients (or, vitamins and minerals):
