Our skin care and balm range uses pure Australian beeswax from our hives and utilise the natural antibacterial and hydration properties of beeswax on your skin. Pure beeswax is commonly used in skincare to improve the condition and texture of the skin, help lock in skin moisture, foster the skin cells and protect the skin from environmental damage. This carefully blended with the best quality base oils and essential oils ensure that using our paste deodorant products actually work.

Why go aluminium, triclosan and paraben free you ask?

For people conscience of what we put in and on our bodies, it’s important to know the ingredients that you are putting on your skin  (especially rubbing directly onto your lymph node area).

Aluminium salt is used in many antiperserants on the market. Although many studies have shown that aluminium in large amounts does absorb into the breast tissue, there is insufficient causal evidence to directly link this to cancer.

Tricosan is an antibacterial chemical used to kill odor-causing germs on the skin and used as a cosmetic perservative. Bicarb soda acts in a similar way as long as you aren’t one of the 10% of the population that is sensitive to bicarb. Triclosan and other synthetic antibacterial chemicals are in sooooo many skin care products. It is a known endocrine disruptor and classified as a pesticide in the USA.

Parabens and phthalates are in virtually everything fragranced and have been linked to disturbing the body’s production hormonal balance, particularly estrogen and testosterone levels. The more of these synthetic nasties we can cut from our deodorant, shampoos, soaps and creams the better.

Our kidneys and liver assist in removing toxins from the body but many things we put on our skin are absorbed directly into the blood stream and why make extra work for them, when they are kept busy enough already.

How do I use it?

For cold climates warm your paste tin in your pocket for a minute before you apply. Apply a tiny smoodge from your tin directly onto your underarm in paste form and rub in. You won’t even know it’s there. Do not over apply or you may find paste on your clothes which can be tricky to remove. A little goes a long way, so one jar should last for several months. Do not consume.

Beeswax is one of nature’s most amazing products! The beeswax comes directly from uncapping our honey frames from our hives. It often varies in colour but the majority is yellow. It can be used in a very extensive list of projects.

All our beeswax has been lovingly hand-melted with steam and double-filtered but may still contain pollen and honey remnants. Beeswax is often yellow due to the variety of nectar, pollen, and resins gathered by the bees to make the wax and also by thousands of little bee feet walking on the frames every day. When fresh beeswax is first built in the hive it can also be white.

Our happy hives are located on suburban and rural properties from Brisbane to Gympie. We use no chemicals in the management of our bees or the processing of our raw honey or pure beeswax. We are organically minded in every step of our beekeeping journey.

When you buy any of our products you are supporting a local family of beekeepers that support an important industry and other family-run businesses. Dream big for local impact!
